Past Meetings
A summary of the Feb. 14 meeting, made
by an attendee, follows.
- Some advanced
useages of MS Word formatting were illustrated.
- Potential CD Labeling problems were discussed.
Labels not made for CDs can cause the CD to be unbalanced and not not
be read when desired.
- The "Mapper Plat" mapping program, which will
draw a plat, when given the coordinates, was illustrated. "Deed Mapper"
is a more advanced Plat software that can be used.
- AnicMap 2.5, which has over 2000 different maps
of the US, was illustrated. A State can be selected, and all changes to
its map since it was founded, can be seen by year. The growth of South
Carolina, since the first settlers, was illustrated. It was quite
interesting to see the expansion of the settlements into colonies, and
then the growth into a State. AnicMap 2.5 can now be economically
obtained as part of a package that is bundled with "Legacy" software.
The topic for the March 11 meeting
has not yet been selected; however, it will likely include a
demonstration of genealogy software.
