Our friends and the host of our main club meetings, the Capital Senior Center, needs your help. As you know, the Capital Senior Center relies on state and local funding to keep the doors open. This year the Capital Senior Center has been notified of severe budget cutbacks that will affect its ability to serve the senior population of Columbia. Here's what you can do to help: - Attend the Richland County Council public hearing on Thursday, May 21 at 6:00 pm at the Richland County Council Chambers at 2020 Hampton Street.
- Call, write or email your County Council Member and ask them to continue funding of the Capital Senior Center at the present or accelerated level.

The main program for this month's meeting is... Embroidery With Computers! Long time club member and former club officer, Elizabeth Kelbaugh, will demonstrate how embroidery and the digital age have merged to make embroidery fun and easy. She will be using a Bernina 185 sewing machine for the demonstration. Elizabeth also uses the popular photo editing software, Paint Shop Pro, to make adjustments to her photos or images before using Designer Plus to digitize the image. Once she has the digitized image, the design file is transfered to the sewing machine for completion of the final product. You will not want to miss this rare opportunity to see a demonstration of this facinating sewing machine. Be sure to pass this along to anyone who might be interested in this topic. Hope to see you and a friend at the meeting! Meeting at the Capitol Senior Center, 1660 Park Circle, Columbia SC 29201, 803-779-1971. The meeting starts at 6:00 pm.
